Workshop "Financial and Technical Instruments for Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) for Agro-processing Sector Companies"

On June 11th Center of Resource-Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECPC) held a workshop "Financial and Technical Instruments for Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) for agro-processing sector companies"

The workshop focused on the discussion of new mechanisms for attracting financial resources for implementation of resource efficient and cleaner production measures in agro-processing sector. The issues discussed at the workshop included existing CPC funding programs and approaches to crediting companies operating in agro-processing sector and introducing RECP technologies. The workshop participants were acquainted with business cases demonstrating implementation of RECP projects in various regions of Ukraine; they were also informed about the experience of agro-processing sector development in Switzerland.

The workshop was attended by the representatives from agro-processing sector companies, financial institutions (International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Ukrainian Energy Efficiency Programme (UKEEP), local Ukrainian banks), representatives from Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, representatives of various NGOs working in the field of resource-efficient and cleaner production and representatives of educational and research institutions (National Technical University "KPI", National University of Bio Resources and Life Sciences, National University of Water and Nature Management).

During the discussion the participants exchanged views on the perspectives of introduction of RECP technology in agro-processing and agrarian sectors and outlined the ways and steps for further cooperation in this area.
