Fund raising for resource efficient measures for SMEs in Chernihiv region

On 26 of October2016, the open seminar of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Club «Fund Raising for Resource Efficient Measures Support at SMEs in Chernihiv Region» were held. The event was supported by Chernihiv Regional State Administration and Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre.

The seminar was opened with the welcome speech from: Svitlana Poltoratska (Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Development at Chernihiv Regional State Administration), Ivan Omelchuk Facilitator of the Resource Efficient Cleaner Production Clubs in Ukraine and Taras Sakalosh (Executive director of the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre (RECPC Ukraine).

Ivan Omelchuk presented the review on actual international and national sources of financing for SMEs. Participants were familiarized with the conditions of cooperation with international institutions, which operate in Ukraine. In addition, links on manuals within respect topic and instrument COMFAR provided by UNIDO, were used in presentation.

Taras Sakalosh shared RECP Centre’s experience from cooperation with the financial institutions and told about practical aspects of the cooperation with such international institutions as «IFC» and «NEFCO».

Tamara Zalozna, Executive Body of the Director at Structural Subdivision of the Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Chernihiv region, told about opportunities for obtaining financial support by the SMEs  through budgetary funds.

Iryna Shtypa (Head of the Department of Strategic Development Municipal Enterprise «Chernihivvodokanal») shared her experience from cooperation with World Bank in framework of the “Municipal Infrastructure Development” project.

Then turn came to the representatives from banking sector, which was presented at the conference by following banks: JSB “UKRGASBANK”, JSC «OSCHADBANK» and JSC «Ukreximbank». The representatives from banking sector told to the seminar participants about terms of the energy efficiency projects financing for SMEs.

The expert of “Maysternya Spilnokoshtu” Olena Lohvinovska introduced participants to the concept of crowdfunding before closure of the conference.

As result, due to the seminar, participants had chance to learn about possibilities of fund raising for resource efficient measures at SMEs and discuss the actual issues on development and implementation of the energy efficient and resource saving options.
