On June 14, 2016 was held Forum “Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP): Efficient Use of Materials”, which was the final event of series of six thematic forums dedicated to the topics of sustainable consumption and production. This time the EaP GREEN project team took a trip to Lviv, to share the experiences of five previous forums, listen to the presentations, and have discussions with the colleagues and collaborators from the Western region. The event was supported by Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry and brought together about 40 people. Among the guests were the representatives of Lviv Regional State Administration, Lviv City Administration, Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National University Lviv Politechnic, The Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv National Agrarian University, The National Forestry and Wood-Technology University of Ukraine, enterprises of different industries and NGOs of Lviv region.
Traditionally at the forum it were represented the concept of the international programme EaP GREEN, the principles of "Resource efficient and cleaner production" and the results of their implementation in Ukraine. Maria Tsybka, Coordinator of EaP GREEN demonstration project in Ukraine, told about this in her speech. She also expressed gratitude to the hosting side for the assistance in forum organization. On behalf of Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President Vladimir Korud and Environmental project manager Lyudmila Gorbachev welcomed the guests and underlined the importance of discussion of the topical issues and experiences exchange on rational treatment of the materials (raw materials) at small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ukraine.

The information provided by speakers raised an interest of the public and became a meaningful basis for active debates, where everyone could express their views on the problem of efficient use of materials in the industry. About the important and positive role of RECP approach in improving the efficiency of this process, told the moderator of the forum Kateryna Romanova, she also represented participants a Primer of Successful Business “Techniques and Practices of Resource Efficient Production”, published in the framework of the EaP GREEN programme as supporting methodical material for RECP implementation at the enterprises.
At the end of the forum, the guests exchanged contacts and impressions from the event and made a conclusion that such events are raising awareness about topical problems of nowadays and suggesting the effective solutions to overcome ones.
