The 1st basic training of national RECP experts under the second phase of Demonstration RECP Project in Ukraine was conducted on June 30 – July 3, 2015 in Kyiv. The trainer was Johannes Fresner - International Expert from Austria. 10 national trainees participated this event. They were identified and selected from relevant technical and/or business institutions as they had an engineering or highly related disciplinary background, demonstrated experience in service delivery to enterprises and demonstrated affinity and understanding of environment and energy issues.
On May 21 and 22, 2015 at the Chamber of Commerce in Vinnytsia and the Administrative Board room of NTUU "KPI" in Kyiv consultative dialogues “Resource efficient and cleaner production (RECP) for the industrial sector of Ukraine” were held within the framework of EaP GREEN programme and demonstration project of UNIDO. During events participants of dialogues (representatives of international organizations, government, business, financial, social and educational organizations) discussed the methods of RECP customizing and domestication to national context in Ukraine including business and government agendas, natural resources and environmental issues, business organization.
TBILISI, 26 March 2015 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) hosted a conference in the Georgia capital, Tbilisi, on “Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) for Better Enterprises, Cleaner Environment and Green Economy”.
RECP applies preventive environmental management practices and total productivity methods to improve productive use of materials, energy and water and reduce the generation of waste, effluents and emissions.
During the conference, 10 Georgian enterprises shared their experiences in applying RECP, and 10 national experts received a UNIDO RECP award.
RECP Centre hosted the review seminar on February 13, 2015. The aim of it was to clarify current state of RECP assessments of enterprises involved into the project and to make additional contribution to the development of reports with adequate and effective RECP options.
Firstly, the Project Manager, Chief of Industrial Resource Efficiency Unit (UNIDO) Rene Van Berkel make an opening speech about importance of implementation and resultative dissemination of RECP. National Coordinator Mariia Tsybka informed participants about execution of project in Ukraine and emphasized the main successes and challenges. Then Project Manager, NC and representatives of Focal Points together with other participants discussed the project implementation. Consequently, the project progress was adopted as proper especially taking into consideration general situation in Ukraine.
The second training of national RECP experts in Ukraine was conducted on December 22-23, 2014 in RECP Centre (Kyiv). International expert Mirko Lešnjak carried out it for national experts who successfully passed first part of RECP training and were invited to continue learning of RECP principles and methods.
This training was devoted to feasibility analysis, generation of RECP options (for energy, materials, water, waste and chemicals) and mainstreaming RECP methodologies into the daily practice of enterprises. In addition, some practical examples were studied. The second training included a combination of class work and supervised generation of RECP options for selected company. It was carried out in accordance with Agenda (attached).
The Round table «Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production at the enterprises of construction materials’ sector» was held by RECP Centre and National Coordinator of EaP GREEN Project in Ukraine 10 September 2014 in the framework of “IV International Energy Forum” (Zaporizhzhia). Among the participants there were representatives of the regional administration, industry experts (analysts, developers, researchers, community leaders) and representatives of the enterprises of construction and municipal sector, industrial organizations, manufacturers of the region. In general, there were over 70 participants from Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk region, representatives of other regions as well as international corporations at the Round table. The high status of the event was emphasised by the presence of General Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk, Detlef Voltaire.
On August 6th, 2014 the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Center together with the Ukrainian League of Construction Materials Producers conducted the Round Table Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production at the enterprises of construction materials’ sector" in the framework of the Demonstration Project of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) - Programme EaP GREEN.
The event participants included Ivan Salii, the President of the Ukrainian League of Construction Materials Producers, representatives and technical managers of local industrial enterprises, representatives of research institutions and scientific journals.
